Morgan Lerette in Iraq

Morgan Lerette

Morgan Lerette grew up in a double-wide in Cottonwood, AZ.  Raised by his grandmother, he managed to graduate high school and enlisted in the Arizona Air National Guard at eighteen.  He deployed to the Middle East several times and walked perimeter fences.  Morgan served his time, was honorably discharged and faced working construction pounding nails, and community college, until a buddy called.

Seeking adventure and stories to tell, not to mention money, he signed on with Blackwater.  Morgan spent 18 months in 2004-2005 as a private security contractor in Iraq.  There, he learned about hookers, death, fine art, and how to become completely heartless toward humans but love animals.

Upon his return to the US, he completed his undergraduate degree at Northern Arizona University in Criminal Justice and commissioned as a US Army Intelligence Officer.  In 2009-10 Morgan deployed back to Iraq.  He left the Army as a Captain (O-3) and attended The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. He received a Master of International Business degree in International Banking and Finance.

Morgan is married with two children. He married way over his head. He has an adorable daughter and wrote this book specifically to frighten off any suitor she may have in the future. He hopes his son will grow up to be a professional athlete because writing books don’t pay the bills.
